1928 – The Jenkins Television Corporation goes on the air, which just happens to be the very first TV broadcasting station in the United States, what an amazing day for United States entertainment history!
1956 – Elvis Presley records his famous hit songs “Don’t be Cruel” and “Hound Dog”.
1958 – The musical “King Creole” which happens to start Elvis Presley premieres in The United States.
1973 – Hit song “You’ve Never Been This Far Before” was released as a single by Conway Twitty, which later went on to become Billboard’s Song of the Year.
1980 – The famous comedy film “Airplanes” premieres in The United States, the film stared Robert Hays and Julie Hagerty.
1991 – The Hit film “Boyz N The Hood” which starred Cuba Gooding Jr and Ice Cube was released in The United States. This film was a major staple hit and showed much of the nation real life inner city issues that are dealt with everyday.
2005 – The Famous Live 8 Concerts took place across multiple different states and different countries. The Live 8 concerts were a string of benefit concerts to help raise awareness about poverty in multiple countries. The concerts included famous names such as Bono, Chris Martin (Vocalist from Coldplay), Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Duran Duran and many more!
